Description

The book is the compilation of the transcriptions of Dr. Kent’s lectures at the Post Graduate School of Homeopaths in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kent believed in Dr. Hahnemnn’s view of the patient’s own language being the best expression of his disease.

Therefore he held that Homeopathic materia medica must be reduced from technicalities to simple speech of the patient.

It must be understood by the reader that this not a primary materia medica and therefore not all remedies have found place in it. However, the leading and fully proven medicines (217 in number) which have strong characteristics have been thoroughly presented for the purpose of showing the reader the evolution of homeopathic materia medica and upskilling a homeopathy student in using it.

The book finds its source in Hahnemann’s Materia Medica Pura, Hering’s Guiding Symptoms and the Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.

Witness the distinctive picture of homeopathic remedies and grasp their essence through the characteristic symptoms. The use of simple language and expression of the symptoms linked with each other as if in a thread and the story-like presentation of the evolution of these symptoms in a drug, enriched by experiences at the bed-side make this book a wonderful read for professionals and forms an important mate for students giving them the core essence of these remedies with subtle comparisons of their symptoms with those of similar remedies interspersed in between. Each chapter is in fact Kent’s plan of studying the remedy.
